Ambulatory Surgery Center at Riverwalk

The Precision Healthcare Specialists Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) provides patients with convenient access to advanced outpatient procedures in a comfortable, specialized setting. Our experienced healthcare team combines advanced technology with personalized care to help diagnose, evaluate, and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.

Our goal is to provide an efficient and supportive experience from preparation through recovery, while maintaining high standards for patient safety and clinical care.

Advanced Gastrointestinal Care

Our Ambulatory Surgery Center offers endoscopic procedures that allow physicians to closely examine the digestive tract, identify abnormalities, obtain tissue samples when appropriate, and help determine the best course of treatment.

Conditions and concerns evaluated at our ASC include:

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
GERD occurs when stomach acid repeatedly flows back into the esophagus, potentially causing heartburn, irritation, difficulty swallowing, and other symptoms. Endoscopic evaluation can help physicians assess the esophagus for inflammation, damage, or complications associated with chronic acid reflux.
  • Ulcers
Ulcers are open sores that can develop within the lining of the stomach or upper digestive tract. Endoscopic procedures can help identify ulcers, evaluate their severity, and assist physicians in determining an appropriate treatment plan.
  • Inflammation and Swelling
Inflammation within the gastrointestinal tract may be associated with several digestive conditions. Endoscopic evaluation provides physicians with a detailed view of affected areas and can help identify the source and extent of inflammation.
  • Barrett’s Esophagus and Precancerous Abnormalities
Barrett’s esophagus is a change in the lining of the esophagus that can develop in some patients with chronic acid reflux. Because Barrett’s esophagus is associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer, appropriate evaluation and monitoring can play an important role in identifying abnormal or precancerous changes.
  • Celiac Disease
Celiac disease is an immune reaction to gluten that can damage the lining of the small intestine. Upper endoscopy may be used as part of the diagnostic process, including obtaining small tissue samples for further evaluation.
  • Esophageal Strictures
A stricture is an abnormal narrowing of the esophagus that may make swallowing difficult or uncomfortable. Endoscopy can help physicians identify narrowing, determine its possible cause, and evaluate appropriate treatment options.
  • Gastrointestinal Blockages
Blockages within the digestive tract can interfere with the normal movement of food and digestive contents. Endoscopic procedures may be used to evaluate certain suspected obstructions and help determine the appropriate next steps for care.
  • Colonoscopy and Large Intestine Evaluation
Colonoscopy allows physicians to examine the lining of the colon and rectum using a thin, flexible instrument equipped with a camera. The procedure may be recommended to investigate gastrointestinal symptoms, identify abnormalities, evaluate changes in bowel habits, or screen for colorectal cancer.

During a colonoscopy, physicians can identify polyps, inflammation, bleeding, and other abnormalities. Certain polyps or tissue samples may also be removed during the procedure and sent for laboratory analysis.

Routine colorectal cancer screening can help identify precancerous polyps before they develop into cancer and can detect colorectal cancer at an earlier stage when treatment may be more effective.

  • Magnification Endoscopy
Magnification endoscopy provides an enhanced, highly detailed view of the gastrointestinal lining. By allowing physicians to examine tissue and surface patterns more closely, this advanced imaging technique may help identify subtle abnormalities that can be difficult to detect with conventional endoscopy alone.

Magnification endoscopy can be particularly valuable when evaluating suspicious or precancerous areas and determining whether additional testing or tissue sampling may be appropriate.
