Arturo Balandra, MD

A board-certified urologist at Precision Healthcare Specialists, Dr. Arturo Balandra brings more than a decade of experience in private practice, along with outstanding training in cutting-edge research and treatment techniques, spanning all aspects of urologic disease.

Dr. Balandra began his academic journey at Vanderbilt University, where he was awarded a full merit-based scholarship as a Chancellor Scholar. He graduated summa cum laude with a dual degree in neuroscience and economics. He then matriculated for his medical education at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, where he was recognized as a Gamble Scholar and earned his medical degree.

Dr. Balandra completed his residency in urology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During his training, he published articles on stone disease and urologic oncology. He also gained extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of urological conditions, including erectile dysfunction, male voiding dysfunction and urologic cancers.

Now in private practice in Naples, Dr. Balandra continues to bring his expertise to the community and is focused on diseases of the prostate – both benign and malignant – as well as stone disease. His experience in benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) and voiding dysfunction includes non-invasive bladder and prostate diagnostic studies, Urolift, button vaporization of prostate, Aquablation, sacral stimulation and Botox, all with the main goal of improving patient’s quality of life.

Regarding malignant disease, Dr. Balandra uses the most current diagnostic techniques of MRI-guided transperineal biopsies. He has, over the last several years, spearheaded the care of advanced and aggressive prostate cancer for the community by using the latest pharmacological interventions, genetically guided therapy and multidisciplinary integration. In this way, he provides the most innovative and current treatments for this very common disease, serving as a second opinion and consultant for this particular issue.

Most importantly, Dr. Balandra believes in partnering with his patients, offering them a breadth of treatment options regarding their diagnosis, and inviting them to take part in their own care through thoughtful and informed decision-making.
