Laura Chang Kit, MD

Laura Chang Kit, MD provides her patients with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of urology, urogynecology, and male and female reconstructive urologic surgery.

A dual board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Urology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, she specializes in female and male incontinence, such as bladder slings, artificial urinary sphincters, sacral neuromodulation and Botox to the bladder. She also specializes in female pelvic organ prolapse, neurogenic and complex bladder dysfunction, pelvic floor dysfunction and urethral stricture disease. Her high level of expertise has led her to be dual-designated as an Axonics Sacral Neuromodulation and Bulkamid Center of Excellence.

Dr. Chang Kit received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of Ottawa, Ontario, winning the Gold Medal for the Faculty of Science. She earned her medical doctorate degree from the University of Ottawa in 2005, pursuing her general surgery and urology residency training at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver General Hospital. She then completed a prestigious fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (FPMRS) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee in 2012 and is additionally board-certified in FPMRS.

Before joining Precision Healthcare Specialists, she had a busy tertiary-care, academic and clinical practice as one of the only fellowship-trained reconstructive urologists in upstate New York. She was an associate professor of urology at Albany Medical College, conducting clinical research and teaching medical students and resident physicians. She received her master’s degree in public health from SUNY Albany in 2021.

Dr. Chang Kit has authored numerous papers and book chapters in female urology and urogynecology. She has frequently presented her original research at national and international conferences. She has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Urology, Neurourology and Urodynamics, as well as the Journal of Endourology and Urology Practice. She has been annually recognized as a Castle Connolly Exceptional Woman in Medicine and Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2018.
