About
Shayhira Suazo Herrera, MD, FACE is a board-certified endocrinologist and a valued member of Precision Healthcare Specialists. She is passionate about guiding patients through their health journey with a thoughtful, individualized approach to care.
Dr. Suazo Herrera specializes in endocrinology, with a focus on diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, parathyroid diseases, pituitary diseases, adrenal diseases and other metabolic and hormonal conditions. She emphasizes education and open communication, helping patients better understand their condition and feel confident in their treatment plan.
She earned her medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and completed her Internal Medicine training in both the Dominican Republic and New York. She went on to complete her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Suazo Herrera is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology.
Meet Yashira Cerda-Guerrero, FNP-C
Yashira Cerda-Guerrero, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of the Precision Healthcare Specialists team. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, combining clinical expertise with an evidence-based approach to help patients achieve the best possible health outcomes.
Yashira has experience caring for adult and geriatric patients across a variety of healthcare settings, including primary care, wound care, telemetry, medical-surgical units, rehabilitation, and cardiac care. She is skilled in comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic studies, and educating patients and caregivers to support long-term wellness.
Prior to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Yashira spent more than a decade as a registered nurse, providing care in hospital and specialty settings throughout Southwest Florida and Puerto Rico. Her diverse clinical background has strengthened her ability to care for patients with complex medical needs while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Yashira earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from South University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is committed to delivering personalized, high-quality care and building meaningful relationships with every patient she serves.
